The Preston County Board of Education recognizes the fine work done by the public libraries in the county. The public libraries are frequently used by students in the public schools, particularly during the summer months when schools are not in session. Therefore, the board pledges cooperation with the public libraries to make the schools' collections of library materials available to the public during the summer period.
Any public library desiring to borrow library materials during the summer should contact the superintendent by May 1. The superintendent or his designee shall administer the program and shall have the authority to designate the particular school libraries from which materials may be taken. The public library shall be liable for damage or loss of any school materials that are loaned to it.
