While the college or university has the primary responsibility for pre-service education of teachers, the Preston County Board of Education recognizes that it has a responsibility to assist the college or university in providing experiences for student teachers. Therefore, the board pledges its cooperation with colleges or universities in the placement of student teachers in Preston County Schools. The assistant superintendent shall supervise the placement of student teachers in the county schools and shall approve all placement of student teachers in advance. The student teacher shall be under the direction of the school principal as are other teachers and shall be considered a part of the school faculty.
