Immediately following his election, each new school board member shall receive an updated copy of the policy manual, the budget, a directory of the division, the West Virginia school laws, and other documents the superintendent deems essential to an understanding of the operation of the school system. The superintendent shall set aside such time as is necessary to answer any questions arising from the study of these documents and shall cooperate fully in assisting the new member(s) to become an informed and active board member.
